HOW TO UPDATE YOUR KINDLE BOOKS TO THE LATEST VERSION

Have you ever heard that an author updated a book you already own? Whether it’s a fixed typo, a beautiful new cover, or a brand-new Epilogue (like the one I just added to Maisy’s Mirror!), you want that fresh version on your device. Amazon doesn’t always push these updates automatically because they don’t want to accidentally erase your personal notes or highlights. Here’s how to update your Kindle books to the latest version:

Step-by-Step Guide to Updating Your Kindle Books

  1. Log in to Amazon: Open a web browser on your computer or phone and go to your Amazon account.
  2. Manage Content and Devices: Hover over “Accounts & Lists” menu and select Manage Your Content and Devices.
  3. Find Your Book: In the “Content” list, find the book you want to update (or type in the name in Search your content bar to find it quickly).
  4. Check for “Update Available”: If an author has released an update and Amazon has processed it, you will see a link or button under the title that says “Update Available”.
  5. Confirm the Update: Click that button. A pop-up will warn you that your old highlights might be lost. Click “Update” to confirm.
  6. Sync Your Kindle: Open your Kindle device or the Kindle app on your phone. Go to Settings > Sync Your Kindle to ensure the new file has downloaded.

Maisy’s Mirror has the UPDATE AVAILABLE, so click on that to read the long-awaited Epilogue!

Or email me at mimi@mimifoster.com and I’ll happily email you the Epilogue.
